Email: rangerrick98@juno.com (please be kind when writing) **************************************** AUTHOR'S NOTES: This is my first attempt at any kind of fan fiction, so it might not be the best. It's my own spin-off series based on the "Digimon: Digital Monsters" TV show. This is a little different from the show, especially the first episode. It'll be more like the show after a couple episodes, though. Let me know what you think, and more episodes are coming soon. Enjoy! ***************************************** Digimon: DigiMaster

Episode Two: Reunion
---------------------
LAST TIME: Kid genius Kevin Mann discovered parallel universes and
found one in which the DigiDestined and their adventures in the
DigiWorld actually happened. After spending a lot of time building a
machine that would take him to the DigiDestined's universe, he finally
finished the device and started it up. Wonder what's going to happen
next?
---------------------
"Pass the ball over here, Tai!"
Sora was getting pretty impatient with Tai. All they were doing
was playing a friendly soccer game, but Tai was using it as an excuse
to show off. Not that there was anyone around who was interested. Tai
and Sora were on one team, and Matt, TK, and Kari were on the other.
Izzy was too busy making websites or something to bother with soccer,
Joe was just pacing back and forth worrying about someone falling and
hurting themselves, and Mimi didn't want to get her new dress dirty, so
she was just standing off to the side being the "cheering section."
"Come on, Tai! I'm on your team, too!" shouted Sora.
Ignoring her, Tai kept doing fancy footwork, moving the ball this
way and that, completely missing the fact that everyone on the other
team was heading straight for him and Sora was wide open to get a goal.
With a cry of victory, Matt stole the ball from Tai and headed towards
the other goal. Tai was too shocked that he had the ball stolen from
him to move, and Sora was all the way on the other end of the field, so
it was an easy goal for Matt and his team.
"That's game, Tai! You lose!" laughed Matt as Tai still just stood
there, staring at where the ball had been just a second ago. Sora
stood at the other end of the field, fuming. You could almost see the
smoke coming off her head as her face got redder and redder. She
slowly stomped towards Tai.
"Uh oh, Sora's mad. We better run!" said TK to Kari. They ran as
fast as they could, trying to get out of range of whatever was about to
happen. Matt glanced at them running away and decided that that wasn't
too bad of an idea, so he quickly moved away from the battle zone, too.
"Tai! What the heck were you doing?!?" shouted Sora as she got
closer.
"Well, I was...that is, I...um, the ball was...."
"Let me help you. You were too busy trying to show off to realize
I was wide open and could've gotten the winning goal. Geez, Tai!
You'd think that teamwork would be the first thing on your mind after
all our adventures in the DigiWorld, even if it was a whole year ago!
We wouldn't have survived without teamwork!"
"Yeah, well, that was different."
"It's no different than this soccer game, Tai. No matter what
you're doing, you have to work together with the people around you.
It's that simple!"
"You're right, Sora. I'm sorry." Tai looked down at his feet,
ashamed.
"Oh, don't worry about it. It's okay." *Dang it,* Sora thought.
*Why does he have to look so darn cute when he does that? I can never
stay mad at him for long.*
"Hey, guys!" shouted Izzy. "I think it's time we got this meeting
started, don't you?"
#########(scene change)
In a small, disused section of the city, all was quiet. No one was
around, nothing was moving except those discarded newspaper pages that
always blow around in a deserted part of a city. Nothing out of the
ordinary happened here, mostly because nothing at all happened here.
But today, that all changed.
Three explosions and flashes of light came out of nowhere, and
where the flashes could be seen, a vehicle emerged. The machine
powered down, its engine hum going down in pitch until it was too low
to be heard, and then it shut off. The sole occupant of this vehicle
unfastened his safety harness and stood up. He looked around, took a
deep breath and smiled.
"I made it!" Kevin exclaimed. "After all that work, I'm finally
here!" Kevin quickly opened the storage trunk of his invention and got
out his equipment. He setup a complicated scanner on a tripod and
started it up. Basically, the scanner would look for anything that it
didn't understand. And the only thing here that the scanner wouldn't
understand would be eight little mechanical marvels known as Digivices.

"Okay, I just got an email from Gennai." Izzy sat at a picnic
table with his laptop in front of him and the others crowded around
behind him. "He says that all is well in the DigiWorld, and that the
reconstruction is going very smoothly. File Island is back to its
normal state, and most of Server is also done. Also, the digieggs that
will eventually be Leomon, Wizardmon, and Piximon have all hatched and
are at their baby stages at the moment. OH, here's a picture."
"Awwww, they're so cute!" said Mimi, looking at the picture Gennai
had attached to the email. "And to think that something that tiny and
cute could digivolve into something as big and powerful as Leomon."
"Any word on how Agumon is doing?" asked Tai.
"Yeah, and what about Gabumon?" asked Matt.
"Yeah, and Biyomon?" Sora added.
"And Gomamon?" Joe queried.
"And Palmon?" asked Mimi.
"How's Patamon?" TK asked excitedly.
"Is Gatomon okay?" asked Kari with that little bit of concern that
she always has for her friends.
"All our digimon are doing very well, and Gennai says that they all
wanted to say 'Hi' and tell us they miss us." Everyone was silent for
a moment as they thought about their digimon, whom they hadn't seen for
a whole year.
Uncomfortable with the sudden emotion everyone was feeling,
including him, Izzy said, "They've all been very helpful in the
rebuilding of the Digital World. Agumon and Biyomon have been spending
a lot of time helping the Koromon and Yokomon villages get back on
their feet. Gomamon has been leading a group of Bukamon in fishing
trips to help get the food supplies back up to where they had been, and
Gabumon's been helping out in a village of some digimon that Gennai
forgot the name of."
"Typical Gennai, " Tai put in, "forgetting all the important
stuff."
"Yeah," Izzy agreed. "Let's see.... Palmon and Gatomon have been
helping out here and there with different things. Palmon mostly does
environmental stuff, and Gatomon does whatever needs to be done the
most wherever she happens to be. And Patamon and Tentomon have been
messengers, mostly, flying from place to place keeping everyone up to
date on what's going on and what needs to be done."
"Cool." said Matt.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
"Aha! It found something."
Kevin ran over to the scanner and pushed the "REPORT" button.
Immediately, a 3D map of the city appeared, and eight small red dots
started flashing. "The digivices! And they're all in one spot! I was
right!" Kevin mentally patted himself on the back for his great
instincts. When he'd decided to come here and find the DigiDestined
and their digivices, he realized that they might not be all together
anymore, since their adventures were over. But then he realized that
they'd probably get together a year later, to have an annual reunion or
something. And he was right!
Excited that he was getting so close, Kevin packed up the scanner
and jumped into his machine. Activating the machine's airplane mode,
he took off from the roof of the building he was sitting on and flew in
the direction of the signal.

"Did Gennai mention any failed digivolutions since they started
rebuilding?"
"No, he didn't, Joe. Why?"
"Well, remember what Apocalymon told us? He said he was made up of
the failed digivolutions that have happened over the years. Well, if
any digimon have tried to digivolve and disappeared, it might mean
another Apocalymon or something worse."
"That's a good point, Joe, but I don't think we have anything to
worry about. Gennai hasn't told me of anything like that, and besides,
it took years for Apocalymon to form. I'm sure it'll be a long time
before anything like that could happen again."
"I'm not so sure, but since there's nothing we can do about it,
okay."
"Hey guys, " Sora suddenly said, "do you hear something?"
Everyone else strained to listen to the faint noise coming from the
distance.
"It sounds like a jet plane," said TK.
"Don't be silly, TK," said Kari. "It's way too low to be a plane."
"Oh, yeah. Well, it still sounds like one!"
As the sound got louder and louder, the eight kids couldn't help
but wonder what it was. And the only way to find out was wait until it
got there.
---End of episode two---
Why is Kevin so interested in the kids and their digivices? What
plans does he have for their impending meeting? Find out next time, on
"Digimon: DigiMaster"!
