Digimon: DigiMaster
--------------------
Episode Five: Escape from the Lab
----------------------------------
*********************************
AUTHOR'S NOTES: I'm sorry if any of the digimon names used from
now on have already been used in the TV show to mean a different
digimon. I haven't seen all the episodes of it yet, so I may have
missed some of them. If you find any that have already been used
in the show, let me know so I can come up with new names. Thanks!
**********************************
LAST TIME: Matt: "Just when I thought my life
couldn't get
any weirder, Kevin leads us and our digimon to the universe he's
from. It turns out that practically the whole world has been
taken over by these evil digimon that are controlled by the
DigiMaster. The only way to save this world is to destroy the
DigiMaster, which will destroy all the evil digimon. But to do
it, we have to find four keys scattered all over the planet to
unlock the portal into this universe's DigiWorld. I told you it
was weird."
----------------------------------
Far off in a dark, scary part of the DigiWorld, the DigiMaster
looked at his displays and grinned. For a long time now, he knew
that Kevin Mann was trying to stop his invasion of the real world.
Of course, he couldn't let that happen, especially not now, when
he was so close to total victory. But no matter what he did, he
couldn't seem to find the kid. He traced connections when Kevin
hacked into his system, but he always ended up finding dozens of
access points.
Today, though, this all changed. A spike on one of
his
monitors showed an unusual energy coming from a laboratory in the
United States. *This has to be him!* thought the evil leader. He
turned to his minions. "Attack this location! I want Kevin
destroyed!"
##########
"All right, so where do we start looking for these
keys?"
asked Biyomon.
"Well, I'm not sure," replied Kevin. "But I
think I can pull the locations off his computer system. It might
take a while, though."
"Here, I'll help." said Izzy, joining Kevin at his
computer. As they typed away, the others chatted about different
things, just passing the time. Joe kept pacing up and down,
mumbling something about being a "nervous wreck."
Getting bored with the waiting, Tai asked, "How long
is
this gonna take?" Completely ignoring him, or maybe not even
hearing him, Izzy and Kevin continued typing away. Frustrated,
Tai walked over to the window and glanced out. *Hey, what's that?*
he thought. He got out his telescope and checked again. "Um,
guys, I think we're gonna have company!"
Everyone but Izzy and Kevin, who were still too
absorbed to
realize what was going on, ran to the window and looked out.
"They look like knights or something." said Sora.
"I think we'd better get out of here. Come on, you two!"
Izzy and Kevin didn't hear her this time, either. Sora ran over
and punched them in the arm.
"Hey!" shouted Izzy, rubbing his arm. "What'd
you do that for?"
"There's a whole bunch of nasty-looking digimon
heading
right for us!"
"What?" exclaimed Kevin. "Izzy, go check that
out. I'm almost done downloading the information."
"All right."
Izzy ran over to the window and opened up his
laptop. Starting
the new Digimon Analyzer, he called up the digimon's profile.
"Sentimon, warrior digimon who are sent in first for
an
attack and to do small jobs for DigiMaster. So named because they
function as sentinels. They are only Rookie level digimon, but in
large numbers they can be very difficult to defeat."
"Kevin, we gotta get outta here, now!" yelled Matt.
Kevin didn't look up from his computer screen, but
he began
typing faster as he replied, "I'm almost done here. We've
got to make sure we get it all. Try to slow them down for a while.
I only need five more minutes!"
"You heard him guys, let's go!" yelled Tai, as he
and Agumon opened the door and ran outside.
"Well, here we go," said Sora, just before she and
Biyomon followed.
"Oh, great. 'Here we go.' Am I ever going to have a
normal summer again?" asked Joe of no one in particular,
then followed the rest of the group outside.
"Here they come! Get ready everyone!" All the
DigiDestined and their digimon got ready to fight.
"Pepper Breath!" shouted Agumon as the first of the
Sentimon came into range. His fireball knocked out the first
group of them.
"Blue Blaster! HA!" cried Gabumon, taking out the
second group.
"Spiral Twister!" yelled Biyomon, but the third
group of Sentimon dodged and set up for their attack.
"Blazing Lance!" The front three Sentimon of the
used their lances to cut arcs of energy in the air, which then
flew right for Biyomon.
"Boom Bubble!" Patamon's attack destroyed the energy
arcs just before it hit Biyomon, while Palmon's Poison Ivy
wrapped up the three who attacked and threw them into the group
behind them.
"Super Shocker!" "Lightning Claw!"
Tentomon and Gatomon's attacks pushed back the next bunch of
attackers.
"They're coming too fast!" yelled Izzy. "We
can't hold them off for much longer." He was right. They
kept fighting back, but more and more Sentimon showed up and kept
getting closer and closer, crowding in on them.
Just then the door to the lab burst open and Kevin
came
running out with a floppy in one hand and something else in the
other. "I got it all!" he shouted, then stopped running
as he saw all the Sentimon blocking their way out. "We've
got to get out of here!"
"They've got us surrounded. There's no where to go!"
cried Mimi.
"Oh yes, there is," said Izzy. "Up." And
he looked at Tentomon.
"Right, Izzy. Tentomon digivolve to...KABUTERIMON."
"All aboard," said Kabuterimon. The kids quickly
climbed up on his back, while the other digimon held off the
Sentimon. Once the kids were on board, the digimon climbed on
too, and Kabuterimon took off.
"Blazing Lance!" shouted the Sentimon still standing
on the ground.
"Look out, Kabuterimon!" shouted Izzy.
"Electro Shocker!" The blast took out the Blazing
Lance attack and kept going to destroy most of the Sentimon still
on the ground.
"We did it! We got away!" shouted Joe in disbelief.
"You guys did a great job," said Kevin. "Thank
you so much! I was able to get all the information we need on
getting the first key."
"Just the first key?" asked Matt.
"Yeah. There are supposed to be instructions with
the
fire key that tell you where to get the water key, and then
instructions there to get the wind key, and so on. I guess he did
that for security."
"So where's the fire key?" asked Kari.
"Well, you're not gonna believe this, but it's in
the
Statue of Liberty. We're going to New York City!"
---End of episode five---
Will our heroes be able to get to New York and find the fire key?
What other evil digimon will they have to deal with? Find out in
the next episode of "Digimon: DigiMaster"!
