It's my own spin-off series based on the "Digimon: Digital Monsters" TV show. This is a little different from the show, especially the first episode. It'll be more like the show after a couple episodes, though. Let me know what you think, and more episodes are coming soon. Enjoy! *****************************************
Digimon: DigiMaster
--------------------
Episode Four: Battle Plan
--------------------------
LAST TIME: Sora: "Just as our DigiDestined reunion was almost over,
Tai spotted this weird jet flying our way. It turned out to be some
kind of transuniverse device that this Kevin guy invented. He said he
needed our help in his universe, because it had been taken over by a
bunch of evil digimon controlled by some guy called the DigiMaster.
After using some hi-tech stuff to study our digivices, he was able to
find a way back to the DigiWorld. It looks like we'll get to see our
friends again, but at what cost?"
--------------------------
"Whoa!" the nine travelers shouted as they rocketed through the
portal from the real world to the DigiWorld. As always, the landing
was pretty rough. After everyone dusted themselves off and made sure
they were all right, they decided to use their digivices to track down
their digimon and meet back where they landed. Kevin, since he had no
digimon to find, decided to stay there with Izzy's laptop, and work on
analyzing the information he got from the digivices.
He had gotten through about half of it when the others returned
with their digimon companions. Everyone was really happy to see
everyone else, and they were bursting with energy. After everyone
introduced their digimon to Kevin (though Kevin knew perfectly well
what their names were), Kevin did a quick scan of each of the digimon,
"just for the record," he said. Then, they all gathered together in a
circle again and departed for the real world.
Back in the real world once again, Kevin started the long task of
getting everyone from their universe to his. Unfortunately, Kevin had
forgotten that there'd be 17 individuals, including himself, to
transport back to his world, and only had room for two other passengers
in his machine. So, eight back-and-forth trips later, he had all the
DigiDestined and their digimon in his universe, at his laboratory.
Izzy watched as Kevin went over to his computer, loaded all the
stuff he learned from the digivices into it, and then started some
program that Izzy didn't understand. A chamber connected to the
computer sat nearby, and began to pulse faintly.
"Okay," said Kevin as he dug another disk out of his drawer, "this
is a Digimon Analyzer that I was able to download when I hacked into
the DigiMaster's computer system a little while ago." He handed the
disk to Izzy. "Here, load this onto your laptop so we have it when we
need it." Izzy took the floppy and started loading the contents onto
his own computer.
"So, Kevin, what are we up against here?" asked Matt.
"Yes, please tell us." said Gabumon. "We haven't heard much about
you and your problem yet."
"All right. As far as I can tell, this human who calls himself the
DigiMaster has somehow opened the gate between the real world and this
universe's version of the Digital World and brought a whole army of
evil digimon through to take over. I don't know if this DigiWorld just
doesn't have any good digimon, or whether they're there but aren't
strong enough to fight back, or what the deal is."
"Sounds pretty rough." said Palmon.
"Yeah, there aren't very many places that are safe anymore. This
area has been mostly overlooked because there's nothing important here.
Except maybe me and my lab, but the DigiMaster doesn't know I'm here."
"Does anyone know who this DigiMaster really is? Does he have a
regular name?" asked Agumon.
"Not one that anyone knows. All we know him as is the DigiMaster.
No one's even seen him in person, because he directs this whole
invasion from the DigiWorld somewhere. The only time we've ever seen
him at all was in a TV broadcast all over the world, when he announced
he was taking over. That's when the evil digimon came."
"How long has this been going on?" asked Joe.
"About three months now. He's taken over most of the planet in
those three months. There are only a few countries that are still
resisting, but even they're mostly under DigiMaster's control. Most of
the world has just given up." Kevin shook his head. "It's funny.
When I started building my machine last year, I just wanted to come
meet you guys and hang out or something. Now, it turns out I had to
use it to ask you for help." He looked up. "I'm really sorry for
bringing you all into this, but I had no choice. Without your help,
this world is doomed."
"Don't worry, Kevin! We'll beat those bad old digimon!" TK said
excitedly.
Kevin smiled at him. "Thanks TK. I feel better all ready."
"All right, it's done loading," came Izzy's voice from across the
room. "I think we're ready to start planning our resistance. What do
we do first?"
"Well," said Kevin, "our most important job is to get to this
universe's DigiWorld and attack the DigiMaster. Without him, the evil
digimon should just end up deleted."
"How do you know that?" asked Tentomon.
"I managed to get a reading on some of the digimon before an attack
once, and all of them seemed to be linked to the DigiMaster in the
DigiWorld somehow. I managed to hack into one of the digimon's program
and sever the link, and he disappeared. But it took weeks to hack into
that one digimon, and since then DigiMaster has blocked me out of the
other digimon. It's not a trick I can do again, but at least now we
know he's the source. It's almost like the evil digimon are stored in
RAM, and DigiMaster's the power source that keeps it all from being
lost."
"Of course!" said Izzy. "That makes perfect sense. For him to
control all of those digimon himself, he'd have to have them in a sort
of RAM-like state so that they'd be easier to manipulate. And since
they're in RAM, they'd disappear if their power source was removed."
"I don't understand any of this! What's going on?" whined Mimi.
"All you need to understand is that the defeat of the DigiMaster
means all the bad digimon go away for good."
"Well, why didn't you just say so in the first place? Then I
wouldn't have gotten this awful headache!"
Kevin and Izzy glanced at each other, rolled their eyes, and
sighed.
"So we just use our digivices to get to the DigiWorld, attack this
DigiMaster guy, destroy him, and go home," summarized Tai.
"I bet it's not that simple, Tai," said Sora.
"Unfortunately, Sora's right. The portal to the DigiWorld has been
sealed by the DigiMaster. We need to get four keys inscribed with the
four elements of fire, water, wind, and earth in order to break the
seal, and they're heavily guarded by some very tough digimon in
fortresses scattered all over the planet."
"And don't forget the rest of the evil digimon," added Joe. "It'll
be hard enough just getting to these keys."
"Joe's right. And even if we get past the rest of the evil
digimon, beat the digimon guarding the keys, open the portal, and go
into the DigiWorld, the DigiMaster will probably be heavily guarded.
This won't be anywhere near easy."
"Okay, so let me get this straight," said Matt. "We have to get
past the digimon army to get to each of these four fortresses where the
keys are, beat the digimon guarding each key, fight our way to the
sealed portal, open it up, find the DigiMaster, and destroy him."
"Yep, that's about it."
"Well, that's just great. And I thought fighting the Dark Masters
and Apocalymon was tough."
"Eh, don't worry about it Matt," replied Gomamon. "We digimon have
gotten stronger since then, because of all the work we've been doing in
the DigiW--I mean, OUR DigiWorld. We'll have this world saved by
suppertime!"
"Yeah, we can do it! Right, Gatomon?" asked Patamon.
"You bet! Besides, I don't have anything else to do."
"Okay, then it's settled," said Tai. "We're gonna fight the
DigiMaster and free this world!"
"Yeah!" shouted the rest of the gang.
---End of episode four---
