Author's Note: This takes place before the DigiDestined beat Venomyotismon. Actually, it's after, but you'll figure that out when you read the story...
The Past Awakens
Prologue
Gennai handed Lily a slip of paper. "Here. Write it down on this in case you forget."
"Oh, I'll remember," Lily replied, flinging her long dark hair behind her shoulders.
"Just in case," Gennai insisted. "We don't want anything to go wrong."
"Shouldn't I go with her?" asked Ponymon in her high-pitched voice.
"You must stay here, Ponymon," Gennai said. "You have been wounded from your fall and you need your rest."
"Besides, I'll do fine on my own," Lily said. She sighed. "Okay, I'll write it down."
Lily scribbled "The Prophecy" on her sheet. Hearing a dark rumbling outside, she stopped writing. "Um…what's that?"
"Oh no! Myotismon has arrived. We must hurry! Quick, into the transporter!" Gennai said urgently, pushing Lily towards a small porthole in the wall. "This transporter will take you a few miles ahead of here. Follow the road until you reach a large door with a digivice carving on it. It will transport you to the Digital world."
"I'm coming!" shouted Ponymon.
"No!" said Gennai. "You will go when you are well rested again. Good luck Lily."
Lily stepped into the porthole and waved as it closed. "Bye Ponymon!"

"Ahh!" Lily was tossed out of the porthole with a flourish. She brushed the dirt off her flower-printed silk robe and spotted the road.
Starting up the road, she heard a dark voice come up behind her. "Myotismon?"
"Don't try to stop me from taking over the world, little girl. But since you're in the way, I'll have to destroy you."
"No!" Lily ran quickly, not looking back. I gotta get through those doors, she thought as she spotted the large digivice carving. Myotismon cannot win.
The doors opened in front of her as she stumbled into them. Almost there, almost there.
"Grisly wings!"
A rush of bats swarmed over Lily, draining her energy and pecking at her skin as the doors began to close. "Ahh!"
Slam. The doors closed and disappeared. "That should be enough to get rid of her," Myotismon said. "Stupid girl. Now, time to destroy the DigiDestined."
