Digimon: DigiMaster
--------------------

Episode Thirteen: A New Threat
-------------------------------
LAST TIME: Matt: "Izzy had tracked the signal from me and Tai's digivices to this big building with lots of evil digimon guarding it. We ran inside and got our digivices back from Compumon, but it was too late. He'd already made an evil version that he used to digivolve to Computeramon. It was a hard fight, but luckily Computeramon ran out of energy and de-digivolved. Before we could attack, though, he vanished back into the DigiWorld. I have a feeling our problems have only gotten worse."
-------------------------------
"They should be right over this hill," said Izzy.

Tai, Matt, Izzy, TK, Kari, and their digimon were tracking the others so they could catch up with them. After half a week of traveling, it looked like they were finally going to rejoin their friends. When they heard Izzy's announcement, everyone got very excited and ran over the hill. Sure enough, there were Sora, Joe, Mimi, and Kevin.

Tai called out to them. "Hey, guys!"

Sora turned toward the sound. "Look, there are the others." Sora and the others waited until Tai and his group caught up with them. "Hey, Tai! Hey, Matt! Did you get your digivices back?"

"We sure did," answered Matt. "But I think we've got a new problem."

"What do you mean?" asked Joe.

"Well," responded Tai, "one of DigiMaster's goons made an evil version of the digivice, and used it to digivolve during battle! He ran out of energy before he could do too much, but now that the bad guys have a digivice, who knows what could happen?"

"This DigiMaster guy is really getting on my nerves," said Mimi.

"You said it, Mimi," agreed Palmon. "What a rude dude!"

"I don't know about the rest of you," said Tentomon, "but I'm hungry! Let's get something to eat, and then you can tell us what we missed while we were away." Everyone thought that was a great idea, and sat down to have dinner.

"So," said Tai with a mouthful of eggs, "what'd you guys do while we were gone? Did you get the water key?"

"Yeah, we did," said Sora. "And it's all thanks to Yokomon here." Tai looked at Yokomon, surprised. He'd been so absorbed in telling everyone about the evil digivice that he hadn't even noticed that Biyomon was Yokomon again. By the looks on everyone else's faces, apparently they hadn't noticed, either.

"What happened?" asked Matt. "Why'd Biyomon de-digivolve?"

"It's because of our fight to get the water key. We had to go up against Skullgreymon."

Shuddering, Agumon said, "I'm glad I missed it, then."

"It was a really tough battle," Gomamon put in. "All three of us fully digivolved, but we still couldn't defeat him."

"Yeah, it was pretty bad," agreed Joe. "But right when I thought we'd completely lost, well...."

"Biyomon warp-digivolved to her Mega level!" finished Sora.

Surprised and amazed, Tai and his group just sat there in shock, looking at Yokomon. Yokomon just looked back at them, smiling with pride. Clearing his throat, Izzy said, "Well, I think congratulations are in order. Excellent job, Yokomon! I'm impressed. So, what's your Mega level like?"

"Well," said Yokomon, "at that level I'm Phoenixmon, and I have the Crimson Flame and Star-Light Explosion attacks. I don't really remember much of the battle; it all went by in a rush. I'm just glad I won!"

"So are we," said Gabumon. "We only have two more keys to go. Where's the next one?"

"It's the wind key," answered Mimi, "and it's in the Leaning Tower of Pizza."

"Don't you mean Pisa?" asked Izzy.

"I don't think so. It's in Italy, and that's where pizza comes from, so it makes sense."

"No, you see, it's--" Izzy started, then thought better of it. "Nevermind." With that settled (sort of), the DigiDestined continued on their way.

Meanwhile, in the DigiMaster's castle inside the Digital World, DigiMaster himself was speaking to a specially assembled group of digimon.

"Now," he was saying, "you digimon have been selected for a very special purpose. You must travel to the real world and destroy the DigiDestined, their digimon, and that annoying little brat who brought them here. Do you understand?" He looked around and saw all eight heads nodding up and down.

"Very good," he said, smiling evilly. "You shall leave at once!"

The DigiDestined were packing up their supplies to start heading for Italy. While they did that, Sora found a moment to talk to Tai, privately. Yokomon knew what Sora was going to say, and went along for encouragement.

"So, Sora, what did you want to talk to me about?" asked Tai.

Sora thought for a moment to try and figure out how to say what she wanted to say. After a minute or so, she said, "When we were fighting Skullgreymon and he beat Garudamon, Zudomon, and Lillymon so badly they de-digivolved, I thought for sure we were goners. I was about to give up, but then...I saw you."

Tai blinked, confused. "What do you mean, you saw me?"

"In my mind. I saw you standing there, in front of me, and you were encouraging me, telling me not to give up. It's that encouragement that made me want to keep fighting, and it's also what gave Biyomon the strength to warp-digivolve."

"Wow, Sora, that's pretty cool. But I still don't understand why you saw a vision of me."

Sora looked down and shuffled her feet. "It's because...well, I guess I did since...I mean...." Sora took a deep breath and looked up. "Tai, it's because I l--" Before Sora could finish, however, a fireball hit the ground between her and Tai and knocked them down and apart. Looking up, Tai saw Agumon standing there with his mouth open, like he had just shot a Pepper Breath.

"Agumon, what are you doing?!?" Tai demanded.

"What do you mean, Tai?" Tai heard Agumon say, except that the voice was coming from behind him. Tai turned around and saw Agumon running towards him, concerned. When he got there, he stopped, looking past Tai in shock. "Who are you?" he asked of the look-alike.

"I'm your worst nightmare," answered the other, sounding exactly the same.

"Oh yeah?" challenged Yokomon. "Yokomon digivolve to...BIYOMON!" "Spiral Twister!" Biyomon's attack knocked the other Agumon to the ground. They used this opportunity to run back to the others.

When they got back, though, they saw twice as many digimon as they expected. All the digimon were fighting completely identical digimon. At a signal from the other Agumon, the other digimon stopped attacking and backed up a few steps to join him. Now that things were calmed down somewhat, Tai could see the one difference between the digimon. The other Agumon and the digimon with him had black collars around their necks, but everything else about them looked exactly the same.

Before Tai could figure out what to do next, the air seemed to shimmer and an image appeared in midair. The DigiMaster looked down at the DigiDestined and grinned. "Do you like my team of evil digimon?" he asked.

"I wouldn't invite them to a party, if that's what you mean," answered Gatomon.

DigiMaster laughed, sending chills up and down everyone's spines. "Of course you don't like them!" he said. "They're going to destroy you!" Looking down at the evil Agumon, he nodded, and then his image vanished.

"Pepper Breath!" said the evil Agumon. Echoing him, the good Agumon launched an attack of his own. The two fireballs collided in midair and fizzled out of existence. The rest of the evil digimon tried their attacks, but their counterparts were able to stop them the same way. Frustrated, the evil Agumon ordered the rest of his team back to the DigiWorld to regroup.

As they disappeared the DigiDestined cheered. "We sure showed them!" said Patamon.

Shaking his head, Kevin said, "I'm sure that this was only the beginning. Next time we run into them, they won't be so easy to scare away."
