Episode Eleven: The Water Key, Part 1
--------------------------------------
LAST TIME: Biyomon: "We finally made it to the Eiffel Tower, and decided to rest for the night before going on. During the night, some Sentimon came and started stealing the digivices! One of them stepped on a branch, and Sora was able to spot them. I drove them off, but not before they had already gotten Tai and Matt's digivices. Kevin decided that we should split up. Tai, Matt, Izzy, TK, and Kari are going off after the digivices, while the rest of us go after the water key."

"Okay, Izzy, where's our digivices?" asked Tai.

"Well, the signal is very faint, so they must be pretty far away, but they're in this direction," he answered, pointing. "They're not moving, and that should make it easier for us to find them."

"Okay, then we should probably get a move on," said Matt. "I don't like being out here in the open when Gabumon can't digivolve."

"Don't worry, Matt!" said TK. "I'll protect you!"

"Yeah, we'll make sure nothing happens to you while we look for the digivices," added Kari.

"Thanks, Kari," Tai said, smiling at her. With Izzy in the lead, the group set off in search of the missing digivices.

"We're almost there!" said Kevin. He and his half of the DigiDestined group were approaching the Eiffel Tower to get the water key. "I don't see any guardian digimon, do you?"

"No, but we didn't last time, either, remember?" Sora replied. She was referring to their attempt to get the fire key. All was well until they got close to it, and then Pyredramon came out and started attacking them.

"Sora's got a good point there, Kevin," said Joe.

"I don't know, everything seems fine so far," said Palmon.

"Palmon, be quiet!" admonished Mimi. "Last time you said that, we almost got fried!" Just then, a glow seemed to fill the air, coming out of nowhere. The glow was eerily red and orange, and Sora thought it looked somewhat familiar. As she tried to figure out where she'd seen that color before, the glow started taking shape. Between them and the Eiffel Tower a form could now be seen. It sharpened in focus as the glow faded away. Seeing what the glow became, Sora remembered where she'd seen it before. It was in a coliseum in a desert of the DigiWorld.

"Skullgreymon!" cried Mimi. "Oh, no!"

"This is the digimon guarding the water key?" asked Joe. "Well, that's just great!"

"Biyomon digivolve to...BIRDRAMON!"
"Gomamon digivolve to...IKKAKUMON!"
"Palmon digivolve to...TOGEMON!"

"Meteor Wing!" "Harpoon Torpedo!" These attacks hit Skullgreymon with full force, but he didn't even flinch. He swatted Birdramon aside and fired his missile at Ikkakumon. Both of them fell back out of range to recover.

"Oh, you think you're tough, do ya?" said Togemon. "Well, how 'bout some Needle Spray!" Togemon sprayed her needles at Skullgreymon, but they had no effect!

"It's going to take a lot more to take out this guy," said Kevin. "He's an Ultimate digimon, remember?"

"How could we forget?" asked Joe.

"Any idea how much further it will be, Izzy?" asked Tai.

"Unfortunately, no. The signal has been getting steadily stronger, but it's still not as strong as it should be."

"I say we rest for a while," said Matt. "We've been walking a long time now."

"Yeah, and I'm hungry," agreed TK.

"Well, all right," said Tai. "But let's not stop too long, or we might lose the signal."

"The signal hasn't moved since we started monitoring it," said Izzy. "Logically, there's no reason for it to start moving away now, and if it does, our digivices will tell us right away."

"He's right, Tai," said Kari. "Just relax. Everything will be okay soon."

"Okay. Well, since we're resting anyhow, why don't we--"

"Look out!" shouted Tentomon. Looking in the same direction he was, the rest of group saw what he was warning them about. A whole army of Sentimon was coming their way.

"Meteor Wing!" "Harpoon Torpedo!" Again, these attacks did nothing to the evil digimon they were aimed at.

"We're going to need more power if we're going to stop him," said Kevin.

"Right!" agreed the others.

"Birdramon digivolve to...GARUDAMON!"
"Ikkakumon digivolve to...ZUDOMON!"
"Togemon digivolve to...LILLYMON!"

"Wing Blade!" "Vulcan's Hammer!" "Flower Cannon!" The three attacks hit Skullgreymon at the same time, pushing him back a step. Roaring, he smacked Lillymon aside and knocked Zudomon down with his tail. Then, to finish things off, he launched his missile at Garudamon, knocking her back.

"I don't get it," said Mimi. "Why can't three Ultimate digimon defeat just one?"

"Skullgreymon is very strong for an Ultimate," replied Joe. "I guess it's because he doesn't hold himself back at all. We may not be able to defeat him without the others."

"Pepper Breath!" "Blue Blaster!" "Super Shocker!" "Boom Bubble!" "Lightning Claw!" The five digimon continued to push back the Sentimon army, but they were losing ground. The Sentimon kept getting closer and closer, and their aim with their Blazing Lance attack was getting better and better.

"We've got to stop them!" said Tai.

"Right!" agreed Agumon. "Agumon digiv--oops, I forgot."

"Don't worry," said Tentomon. "We'll take care of it!"

"Yep!" agreed Patamon.

"Tentomon digivolve to...KABUTERIMON!"
"Patamon digivolve to...ANGEMON!"
"Gatomon digivolve to...ANGEWOMON!"

"Electro Shocker!" "Hand of Fate!" "Celestial Arrow!" The tide of battle turned, and the Sentimon were pushed back by these new attacks until they retreated.

"All right! Good job, guys!" said Tai.

"Yeah, that was great, TK," agreed Matt.

"Wing Blade!" cried Garudamon. Stepping out of the blast's way, Skullgreymon launched another missile, hitting Garudamon and pushing her back into Zudomon and Lillymon. The three de-digivolved back to their Rookie level.

"Gomamon!" yelled Joe, running to his friend's side. Mimi and Sora ran up to their digimon as well, making sure they were okay.

"What are we going to do now? We're done for," said Mimi.

Looking down at Biyomon, Sora thought, *Mimi's right, it's hopeless. What would Tai do in this situation?* In her mind, she saw Tai, the Crest of Courage glowing in his heart. He was encouraging her, giving her strength.

"We're going to keep fighting!" Sora said with sudden conviction. The others looked at her, first in surprise, then in wonder as her digivice began to glow brighter than it ever had before.

"Sora, your digivice..." said Joe.

Sora looked down at her digivice and saw it glowing. "What the...?"

"Sora, I feel so much energy going through me!" exclaimed Biyomon. "Something's happening...." Biyomon began glowing brightly as everyone else looked on in wonder.

"Biyomon warp-digivolve to..."

Kevin watched, amazed, as Biyomon's glowing form changed to Birdramon, and then to Garudamon, and then....

"PHOENIXMON!"
