Tai and Matt and Metalgarurumon and Wargreymon are fighting. No one knows how to stop them. Kari hears the voice and it takes over her body in order to communicate with them. This person takes them to a place where they  can see computer images of events from the past.
They go back to where it all began. They see the terrorist bombing 4 years ago, the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon. All of them as little kids are watching the fight. They are chosen to become the digidestined because of certain qualities they have.
People are working to steady the balance of good and evil to maintain harmony in the world. There are 8 eggs, tags  and crest lined up: those are the digimon.
But then, Piedmon and his henchmen attack. Gennai (as a young man) escapes with the eggs. They go after Gennai, and one of the eggs fall into the forest below.
Over time, the eggs hatch and the digimon digivolve to their in-training stages. They wait and wait, and one day, the kids fall out of the sky. This is how their journey began.
The kids return to the digiworld and now that Matt understands why they were chosen, he stops fighting with Tai. But since he knows he has to follow his own path, he and Tsunomon go their own way.
Mimi doesn't want to fight anymore, so she also goes her won way, but with Palmon, Joe and Gomamon. Everyone else is still together. Gatomon believes that they will one day meet up again because they were all destined to be together in the first place.
Is Gatomon's theory right? What will happen to the digidestined?
