Tai and Agumon have returned to the digiworld in the same place where they left it. They explore the area and find Tokomon and T.K.'s digivice and crest. Tokomon wakes up, happy to see them, then tells them the story about what happened.
Tai and Agumon were gone a very long time. They kept searching, though. But one night Sora and Biyomon left camp to search for Tai on their own. The next morning, everyone went on search for Sora. Finally, someone suggested they'd cover more ground if they split up. So Izzy and Tentomon went one way, and Joe and Gomamon went another, until just Matt, Gabumon, T.K. and Tokomon were left. They found an amusement park, but Matt didn't seem too excited. He and Gabumon paddle off in a sawn boat, Matt telling T.K. he'd be back in a couple hours at the most. T.K. waited and waited, looking out onto the ocean until he just had to rest his eyes. They waited for a week, but there was still no sign of Matt. Then one day, a digimon looking like a bowling ball with wings flew over and introduced himself as Demidevimon. Tokomon had only heard bad things about him, but they explained that Matt hadn't come back anyway. So then Demidevimon went off in search for him. A few minutes later he came back and told T.K. that Matt said that he didn't like T.K., that T.K. was just a crybaby and a little brat. T.K. cried and Tokomon got angry at Demidevimon for saying that. Later, Tokomon confronted Demidivimon, telling him that he had to stop lying to T.K. Demidevimon denied it and started blabbering on about how ToKomon was being predigious. Tokomon couldn't stand it anymore and attacked him with his bubble blow. T.K. came running up and tried to get Tokomon to apologize for doing that. When Tokomon refused, T.K. said that he'd have to leave if he wouldn't apologize, so T.K. and Demidevimon go into the amusement park to play, leaving Tokomon and T.K.'s digivice, tag and crest behind.
T.K. and Demidevimon are playing on the rides in the amusement park, but the whole time T.K. is thinking about Tokomon, feeling that he is unsafe. Demidevimonj gets frustrated with trying to be friends with T.K. and excuses himself.
He finds two Gazimon ina patch of mushrooms who have appeared to have forgotten everything. Demidevimon realizes that they're the mushrooms of forgetfulness and takes some to feed T.K.
Meanwhile, Tai's digivice goes off, meaning trouble. Tai ignores it becaues he's spotted T.K. They greet each other happily. T.K. tells Tai about how Matt and everyone hates him, and Tai wonders what T.K.'s new friends has been saying.
Demidevimon comes back and finds them altogether. Tai and Agumon blow up at him for telling T.K. all those bad things, but Demidevimon again denies it saying that it was all true, just as he said it. He shows them the mushrooms and Tai and Agumon happily take them. Then Tai decides that they should eat them right, so he cooks them.
Agumon rushes to the little digimon's room, and sees more mushrooms near the entrance. He'd rather eat them raw then cooked, so he takes one. Don't eat them! They're the Mushrooms of Forgetfulness! says a voice sounding like Sora's. Agumon figures that if what Sora said is true, then they were all in danger.
T.K. is about to stuff one in his mouth, but it's too hot so Tai blows on it. He puts it back into his mouth as Agumon comes running, shouting not to eat it. He comes over and pulls it about of T.K.'s mouth, explaining that they were really poison and would make them forget everything.
To prove his point, Agumon shoves it into Demidevimon's mouth, but he won't eat it. T.K. now realizes that he lied to him, and runs over crying to apologize to Tokomon. Tokomon agrees as long as they'll always be friends. T.K.'s crest glows and Tokomon digivolves to Patamon, who fights Demidevimon.
At first Demidevimon pulls Patamon by his ears, but Patamon gets up and blows him away with his boom bubble. Tai and Agumon cheer, and T.K. and Patamon are now officially friends again.
