After finding Mimi's crest of sincerity, the group continues to travel in the hot desert. Tai and Agumon are up ahead of everyone else, who are carrying a serious conversation about the crest. Something pulls Tai and Agumon into the ground. It turns out to be Kuwagumon only this time he's bigger. He throws Tai and Agumon off, then attacks Agumon with his scissor claw.
Agumon's afraid that he can't digivolve right because of previous events, and Tai's just as freaked. Tai pushes Agumon out of the way from Kuwagumon, and out of nowhere a Pixibomb comes and destroys Kuwaygumon.
A digimon resembling a pink powderpuff appears. Biyomon recognizes him as Piximon, the great trainer of Digimon. Piximon wants to train them to become stronger by taking them to his home because he believes that they need lots of help. The group decides that they should go, and follow Piximon. After travelling for what seemed liked a long time, Piximon uses his Pixiportal and the front door of his place appears.
They enter it, and then, as part of their training, walk up a very long flight of stairs to Piximon's house. After that, Piximon gets them to scrub the floors except for Tai and Agumon. Piximon leads them into a cave, where they fall into something. Piximon leaves them, saying that their task is to find their way home.
That night, while everyone's still asleep, Matt and Izzy find that their tags are glowing. They decide to go look for their crests, leaving Gabumon and Tentomon behind so they can sleep.
They come to the end of the barrier, and see that the well right outside of it is glowing, justlike their tags. They decide to risk it, so they go throiugh the barrier. Using a rope, they go down into the well where they find their crests of friendship and knowledge.
Meanwhile, Etemon's network that had been down was finally fixed, and he discovers the location of Matt and Izzy. He sends Tyrannomon after them, who breaks Piximon's barrier when Matt and Izzy run toward it.
Meanwhile, back at Piximon's, Tentomon and Gabumon are worried about Izzy and Matt, but Piximon informs them that they went to look for crests at about midnight. As they continue to train, Piximon senses that his barrier has been broken. They run out and find Matt and Izzy. Etemon appears and uses his dark network concert crash to darin their energy to keep them from digivolving.
Tai and Agumon somehow end up in a boat and drift farther and farther away. They reach a bridge with a little kids struggling to ride a bike but continues to fall. Tai recognizes the boy as himself. He and Agumon help the boy keep steady on his bike, and soon the small Tai is able to ride. Tai realizes that this whole thing was just a lesson of overcoming your fears. Because he was worried about Agumon digivolving into Skullgreymon again, he freaked out, just as Agumon was afraid to digivolve into Greymon.
Now that they understand, they get back into the boat and go back. They realize that their friends are in trouble, so Agumon digivolves into Greymon and fights Tyrannomon. Eventually, he is able to lift Tyrannomon, pulling out all the black cables. He defeats Tyrannomon and everyone cheers wildly.
Tahnking Piximon, they leave to continue their journey.
