Tai and Agumon begin by floating on an ice burg. They hit an island and land on it into the snow. Tai finds his clothes but they're frozen stiff, so Agumon uses his pepper breath to warm them up, even though he 'overcooked' Tai's pants.
Frigimon shows up. Usually he's friendly, but it turns out that he has a black gear in him and he chases after Tai and Agumon. Because Agumon's so hungry, he can't digivolve so the chase continues. They watch as Frigimon freezes up a mailbox, knowing that if he touches them they'll be in big trouble.
Eventually, they're cornered and there's nowhere for them to run. Agumon gets an idea, thinking that if Tai throws him over and onto Frigimon's back, he can destroy the black gear. Unfortunately, Agumon is too heavy to be lifted by Tai. Tai tries it anyway and as Frigimon charges at them, they slide underneath him and away. Frigimon gets buried under his own ice punch.
Tai figures that if Agumon curls up to a ball, he can kick him instead of throw him. They try this when Frigimon charges at them once again and succeed. Frigimon returns to his normal state and in gratitude for taking out the black gear, he helps Tai and Agumon get to the other island where Matt and Gabumon are.
By using his Subzero Ice Punch, Frigimon makes an ice bridge over to the island, having a merry conversation the whole way. He ends up carrying Tai and Agumon the rest of the way when they become cranky and start arguing.
Meanwhile, Matt and Gabumon are stuck in a snowstorm and Matt is desperately searching for T.K. Gabumon points to a cave and says that they should take shelter there. Worried sick, Matt runs to the cave expecting to find T.K. there, but no luck. Gabumon settles Matt down by a fire he made, trying to warm him up. Gabumon decides to go find TK.
After searching everywhere and not finding anything, Gabumon headed back to the cave, thinking of how disappointed Matt would be. Instead, he finds Matt frozen in the snow. He takes him into the cave and tries to warm him up knowing that if he didn't Matt would be a goner. He comes up with an idea. He uses his own fur as a blanket for Matt (Aww, what a thoughtful digimon! He's so cute!), leaving himself furless and cold for the night.
As Matt wakes up, Gabumon rushes over and takes his fur back. Matt thanks Gabumon for keeping his warm, but notices that Gabumon now has his cold.
Tai, Agumon and Frigimon reach the island and hike up to the center where Matt and Gabumon are. They find Matt's bed and then Matt and Gabumon come out of the cave, happily greeting their friends. Seeing that Gabumon has a cold, Frigimon walks off for something. Tai wonders why Gabumon has a cold when he's the one with the fur, but Matt thinks that he's making fun of Gabumon and gets mad. They get into an argument because they both have different ideas about what they should do next.
Matt runs off angry and Tai follows. Tai grabs him by the waist and tries to get Matt to listen. Instead, Matt turns around and punches Tai. Agumon and Gabumon rush over, Agumon leaning over Tai to see if he's okay. Tai gets angry and tackles Matt. They start fighting, rolling on the ground farther and farther away. Finally, at the edge of a cliff, Tai gets on top of Matt and gets ready to give him a punch.
Tears running down his cheeks, Matt confesses why he's this way: he's worried about TK being all alone, helpless. Understanding, Tai pulls back his fist. Gabumon and Agumon run up behind them telling them to get off the cliff, but it was too late. They fell, but Tai caught a branch and Matt's hand. Their digimon try to climb down to help them up, but Mojyamon appears with a black gear. He breaks the cliff off of the land, and Matt, Tai, Gabumon and Agumon fall to the ground.
Frigimon appears and the four land on him, making him fall over. Grateful, they thank Frigimon for stopping their fall. It turns out that Frigimon went to get food, so they munch happily on it. Also, he brought some cold remedy for Gabumon, who eats it and finds it tastes terrible.
But Mojyamon attacks. Frigimon fights back, only to have Mojyamon throws his boomerang, everyone ducking to avoid it. Agumon and Gabumon then digivolve to Greymon and Garurumon. Garurumon catches Mojyamon's boomerang and breaks it. When Frigimon grabbed Mojyamon from behind, Greymon aimed at the black gear with a Nova Blast and Mojyamon shrunk back to his normal size.
Behind the, the mountain shattered revealing many black gears. Garurumon destroys them with his Howling Blaster, but the black gears fix themselves and the island begins to move again. Using his mini telescope, Tai discovers that they really are moving - but the other way, towards Infinity Mountain! Tai and Matt agree not to fight and Matt worries less about T.K. knowing that he has Patamon to protect him.
