Izzy tries to get his computer to work, but nothing happens. Tai comes over and gives it a few bangs, but Izzy quickly pulls it away. Izzy tries again and it turns on, but the battery is low. They find a big factory and decide to go in. Inside, there are many machines working. They go looking for the people who are controlling the machinery.
Tai, Joe, Sora, Agumon, Gomamon and Biyomon find something that looks like a robot stuck under some machinery. Agumon informs them that it's Andromon, a very advanced digimon. They try to help him out by pulling him, but he's too stuck. Tai falls back on a lever, and the gears in the machine begin to move. A black gear is pushed into Andromon's leg, then the kids pull him out. Andromon wakes up and turns on them, picking Sora up then throwing her. Agumon blasts the roof with his pepper breath, so while all these bars have fallen on Andromon, they make their escape.
Izzy and Tentomon find a large battery. They enter it, and Izzy discovers that it's made up of a computer code because of the hydroglifics covering the inside wall of the battery. He turns on his computer and tries to decode it. Izzy wipes away a piece of a hydroglific, then all the lights go out.
Andromon has recovered, and attacks the kids with his lightning blade. They rush out of the way just in time. Izzy adds a stroke of black paint to the part he erased, and the lights turn back on again. Andromon continues to chase the kids and attacks again. They jump off the walkway and hang on to the sidebars. Tai jumps on to a construction machine and pulls the lever to make the hook part hook on to Andromon and pull him away. The kids run away.
Izzy says he finds puzzles more interesting than people when Tentomon asks him. Tentomon asks him if there's some kind of deep dark secret that makes finding out why things are what they are so important to Izzy, and Izzy remembers a time long ago. His parents were talking about whether or not they should tell him something, and Izzy was watching them through the door. Tentomon snaps him out of his daydream, informing Izzy that something was going on on the computer screen. The words on the screen beging to go all weird, and a digital model of the factory begins to take shape, then becomes part of a larger model scale of an island. Izzy's digivice begins to activate, and then somehow the computer affects Tentomon, making him jump around as it burns him. Izzy turns the computer off, and Tentomon returns to his normal state.
Matt, T.K., Mimi, Palmon, Gabumon, and Patamon are watching the machines put items together...then takes them back apart. Matt figures that everything here is based on perpetual motion - nothing ever stops or leave this place.
Izzy finds Matt and the others, shouting that he had discovered something. Tai and the others come running, and Tai shouts that they need to get out of this place. Matt's query of why is answered when Andromon comes crashing up from the ground between them. He attacks Matt and them with his missiles, and they all run out of the way except for T.K. Gabumon digivolves to Garurumon quickly and pushes the missiles away with his paw.
The missiles come back and shoot at Tai and them, so Agumon digivolves to Greymon. He and Garurumon battle Andromon, but it's not enough. Tentomon gets Izzy to turn on his computer, and Tentomon is able to digivolve to Kabuterimon. He uses his Electro shocker and cuts Andromon's energy source by aiming at his right leg. The black gear flies out and Andromon becomes a good digimon again. Apologizing for his misconception, he shows the kids a way out, a sewer passageway. T.K. asks if Izzy can make Patamon digivolve like Tentomon did, so Izzy turns on his computer again,. For some reason, it won't work. Tai and Agumon offer to give it a few whacks, but Izzy quickly gets out of the way so Tai and Agumon end up hitting each other. They all get a good laugh out of that, and now are ready to continue their journey.
