The group continues travelling and decide to camp out by a lake. They come across a clean trolley car that has mysteriously appeared. Feeling that it is safe, they decide to use it to sleep in. Izzy and T.K. catch some fish and Agumon starts a fire to cook it in. Using Matt's idea, they cook them by sticking them on sticks and placing them by the fire.
Agreeing that they should stand guard for the night, Matt refuses to let T.K. take part in it because he's young and needs his rest. Then Tai begins to tease Gabumon, saying that Mimi might come along and take his fur, so Matt gets mad at him since Gabumon doesn't like it. Joe stops them and they figure out the schedule for the night. Tai volunteers to go first, and Matt wants to be second. Joe decides that Izzy will go next, and Joe will then finish up the night. So Tai and Agumon are outside standing guard while the others sleep in the trolley car.
Inside the trolley car, Matt tells Gabumon to go sleep with T.K. Gabumon knows he just wants him to keep T.K. warm, but Matt won't admit it, saying that he was just making him sweat. When Gabumon willingly sleeps beside T.K., T.K. sleepily thanks Matt, who turns around and blushes.
Tai struggles to stay awake with Agumon by the fire. Tai sees someone and it turns out it's just Matt. Matt apologizes for fighting with Tai earlier and Tai asks about Matt and T.K. Apparently, Matt and T.K. are only half brothers and don't live together anymore. Matt runs off, thinking about other things. He begins to play his harmonica, and Gabumon listens in awe and T.K. sleeps happily.
Fire sparks from the fire by Tai, and then a sea monster appears out of the lake who turns out to be Seadramon. The others wake up, and Tentomon jumps around and onto some red thing. The red thing moves up, flipping Tentomon off. It's actually Seadramon's tail, and he pulls the little piece of land right out into the middle of the lake. He sees the kids and gets ready to attack. The digimon attack back, but their attacks are too weak to do anything. Agumon tries to digivolve, but can't do it like last time.
Matt, still back on the main land, swims out into the lake to save T.K., and is followed by Gabumon. T.K. falls into the lake, but Gomamon brings him back up into the surface. Matt tries to distract Seadramon by swimming out in a different direction then the others, but Seadramon uses his tail and pulls Matt underneath the water. He pulls him up into the air and holds Matt with a tight grip. T.K. asks Patamon to help him, but Patamon knows he's too small for the job. Gabumon wants to do something, but he doesn't know what, just that he has to save his friend. Matt's digivice glows, and Gabumon digivolves to Garurumon for the first time.
Garurumon jumps up and frees Matt from Seadramon's grasp. Tentomon informs them that Garurumon's fur is legendary, it's as strong as steel, making him supposedly invincible. Seadramon and Garurumon battle, and Seadramon covers Garurumon with cold icy blast. Garurumon attacks back with his howling blaster and Seadramon falls back into the lake. Garurumon devolves to Gabumon.
Gomamon uses his marching fishes and they carry the island back to land. Now that everyone's safe, they begin to snooze off. Tai peeps out from behind a tree and sees Patamon, T.K., and Gabumon leaning on Matt who's playing his harmonica. T.K. softly murmurs, "Big bro...you're the best," and Matt continues to play as everyone drifts to sleep.
